I’ve always thought the Vogon’s are the most like what’s happened to the US over the past 20 years. The Obama presidential library is super Vogon-inspired.

Fascinating. What particular Vogon qualities did you spot in the Obama Library?

The lack of windows combined with large expanses of grey, imposing steel. It’s huge and shapeless. But powerful and can withstand a bomb blast. No aesthetically pleasing component in the whole building, but we’re supposed to be impressed by it. Like Vogon poetry.

That’s actually really funny. It’s like they’re saying “You must endure this even though it’s awful.”

No windows except for the top few floors. Try and find the windows. It’s a bunker.

Man,what a bummer. I knew nothing about the Obama library except that it existed until I read your comment. Jesus.

If it’s any consolation, the interiors look fairly warm and inviting. Only the lobby is giving airport vibes

Well, that’s something. So, I looked at some photos of it. That main building is weird-looking. Vaguely like some old electric razor, but bulkier. Also, yeah, big sections with no windows. Lots of bare concrete, which is pretty ugh. I deem the style ‘Nouveau Eastern Bloc.’

There are so many epic architects in Chicago too. I don’t know why they didn’t just have Jeanne Gang do it
